Introduction to Printmaking

Discover the unique process of linocut printmaking in this two-week workshop. Participants will learn various design and carving techniques to create their own 4 x 6 inch linocut block. They will then make several prints using their finished block while experimenting with various placement orientations.

Linocut is a type of relief printing created by carving a design into a block of material using metal gouges. Ink is then rolled onto the surface of the carved block and printed onto paper or fabric. With relief printing, the carved away areas remain unprinted. This is a very fun and versatile process.

All high-quality art supplies are included.
